Hometown: Richland, WA, but I used to live in AR.
When and WHY did you start running?
When I was in high school, I’d run a few miles on the weekends for fun and fitness. After college I started running more because I needed an inexpensive hobby. Running also allowed me to explore more of the area since I didn’t have a car at the time.
Where do you prefer to run? Do you have a favorite route?
I just like running in my city. When I lived in Milwaukee, WI, I loved running past Miller Brewery into downtown and the lakefront.
What was your “I’M A RUNNER!” moment?
I don’t think there was really a moment, but I gained more confidence as I increased my mileage.
If you could go back and give yourself a piece of advice as a beginner, what would it be?
You can do it!
What motivates you in running? Medals? PRs? Fitness?
I want to take good care of my health, and the runners’ high feels so good! Races are fun for the festive atmosphere as well as the bling and tasty food at the end!
Do you have any racing superstitions or traditions?
I used to save my favorite magenta socks for races or long runs, but they’re worn out now.
Do you run solo or with a group?
I run solo. I like having an activity I can do on my own.
Why do you run the Hogeye? What makes it special? Are you running the Hogeye this year?
I lived in Arkansas for several years, but I never made it to Hogeye. I’m combining this run with a visit to see my parents in the area.
